An update on my injury and I am happy to report that things are moving in the right direction.
I spent last week walking most days about 2 miles a time and by the end of the week the pain had almost totally gone and only residue pain after each walk that went quite quickly.
Another bike ride on Sunday – 12 miles this time and the foot was in a lot better shape than the previous week with only a little pain by the end that was gone by the following morning.
So, today I have increased the walk to 4 miles and for the first time included some running. Not too far, just 30 seconds then a minute and finishing with a few minutes but no adverse reactions. I’m not saying I couldn’t feel the foot but it was a lot less painful that it has been and sitting here a few hours later I haven’t got any pain at all.
Hopefully I can increase the amount of running that I do for the rest of the week and then next week look to getting somewhere back to somewhere close to where the schedule was.
I think for now though that I will have to resign myself to the fact that some of the training will have to be done in my trainers and some in my vibrams until I can build my bone strength back up in my feet.
I’ll get back into the routine of posting up my training and nutrition tomorrow.
